The Portuguese society of ITUGAL, in collaboration with the intercontinental institute of SAFPEM, has launched a exceptional project for long-term temporary residency in Europe (Schengen Union) for international artists. This project, which is currently underway with limited capacity, can accommodate 300 artists from countries such as:

The deadline for applicants to register is from March 26th to May 26th, 2024 (until 24:00 Lisbon time). Designed with the aim of opening new doors for the life, work, and growth facilitation of artists in the European cultural scene, this project provides a unique opportunity for creative development and new connections.
By creating a bridge of cooperation between ITUGAL corpotation, IDEATO Business Incubation Agency, and the Portugal Association of Art and Technology, known for their ability to nurture and strengthen artists, it establishes a platform for harmonization. It aims to expand the entry of artists into the European art market through Portugal as a strategic gateway. ITUGAL provides a supportive environment for artists intending to launch themselves into new markets by offering details on European trade routes.
This project includes legal counselling, market entry strategies, and logistical support, ensuring that artist migration to Europe is expedited. Simultaneously, the specialized focus of this project enhances the power of artists at the base, improving artistic expression and networking opportunities within the European artistic community through customized artistic expression programs and networking opportunities.
This unique combination not only facilitates logistical aspects of migration but also strengthens the creative and professional growth of artists, positioning them favourably in the vibrant European art scene.

WHY PORTUGAL?
Portugal is often admired for its exceptional quality of life, stunning natural landscapes, and pleasant climate throughout the year. The country offers a unique blend of historical charm and modern amenities. Residents of Portugal enjoy a very good standard of living at a lower cost compared to many Western European countries. Other advantages of Portugal include a strong and accessible healthcare system, high-quality education, and one of the lowest crime rates in Europe.
Moreover, Portugal's rich cultural heritage, friendly spirit of its people, widespread proficiency in the English language, and job opportunities for the younger generation make it easy for immigrants to integrate into the social fabric of the country and achieve greater success. Especially for artists, Portugal offers many advantages that promote creativity and artistic growth. With numerous galleries, art workshops, and cultural events celebrating traditional and contemporary arts every year, Portugal is recognized as a dynamic art scene in Europe.
The relatively low cost of living allows artists to focus more on their specialized activities. Additionally, the supportive Portuguese community creates a professional and intimate environment for both local and international artists to flourish. The government of Portugal also provides significant scholarships and artistic residencies, recognizing the value of cultural and artistic contributions to societal growth.
In essence, Portugal provides an ideal environment where artists can connect with a supportive and creative community and create a better life for themselves at an affordable cost. These features have transformed Portugal into an attractive destination for artists worldwide. Portugal's immigration policies make it an ideal choice for individuals seeking a second citizenship. Through several programs such as the Golden Visa, Startup Visa, Tech Visa, and Digital Nomad Program, Portugal offers a pathway to citizenship. These programs provide a simple process for residency and citizenship, making Portugal an appealing option for immigrants looking to settle in Europe.
